Over the past four years, it has been my privilege to serve as mayor of Waukee and help lead a great city, one of the most dynamic communities in the state of Iowa. Throughout that time, I have worked with city officials and community leaders to provide the type of responsive, results oriented local government the public expects and deserves. In doing so, we built the foundation of a strong and durable local economy that provides opportunities for all families across our city.
We have focused our energies on creating jobs, improving the city’s infrastructure and amenities, and delivering quality city services that you deserve and expect.
In addition, we’ve been fiscally responsible with your money. I am proud that over the last ten years while I have served as Mayor and on the council, the city has held the line on taxes.
That means the one piece of the pie on your property tax bill that the city controls has been frozen for ten years. In fact, there has not been one property tax increase over the last ten years.
I believe today, Waukee is a better place to live, work, and raise a family, but we must continue to work hard and not rest on our successes.
Over the past several years, I have worked to develop a comprehensive plan for leading Waukee forward. That plan outlines the goals and strategies we will put in place to continue creating jobs and ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality of life for the city’s residents. That includes securing funds for the Alice’s Road corridor, spearheading the creation of the Economic Development Corporation, and connecting Waukee’s trails to other communities in central Iowa.
I am excited about Waukee’s future. My wife, Linda, and I have raised our two boys, Brady and Tanner, in Waukee and we intend to call Waukee home for decades to come. I’m proud of our city. With your support, I will have the opportunity to continue to work hard every day for you and our city.
Sincerely,

Bill Peard
