Waukee has undergone a number of long-lasting transformations over the past decade and our community continues to be a premier place to live, work, and raise a family. That is a testament to the values of our residents and their commitment to create and maintain a strong, vibrant local economy.
Serving in city government throughout that time, I have been fortunate to work closely with community leaders, activists, officials, and concerned citizens from all backgrounds to develop and implement a vision that reflects those strengths. As a city councilman, mayor pro-tem, and now mayor of Waukee, I have been committed to delivering results for the public and responding effectively to the needs of the community.
But, more than anything, I have worked tirelessly to be a good steward of your tax dollars. As families throughout our community have balanced budgets in tough economic times, I believe city government needs to do more with less, spend every dollar wisely, and continue to provide first-rate services in the process. Working together, that's exactly what we have been able to do over the past decade.
Waukee's future is unlimited. We are the fastest growing city in the state of Iowa and, in my mind, the most dynamic and exciting community in the Midwest. My wife, Linda, and I couldn't have chosen a better place to live and raise our two sons, Brady and Tanner. I am excited about the great successes of the past decade and the new and bright opportunities ahead.
